About Us

Professional Tutors Network was established in 2005 by Linda Perales, a certified teacher and professional tutor for over 30 years.  Her experience includes classroom teaching in Kindergarten through 12th grades in public and private schools and non-profit organizations in Washington, Texas, North Carolina, California and Germany.  She has also worked with soldiers on basic skills for the Department of Defense. 

Linda earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1974 from the University of Texas at El Paso.  She received an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University in 1990.  She expects to complete her Ph.D. in Education in 2010.  She is a licensed consultant for Brain Gym^©, an educational program that enhances learning through movement. 

In response to the demand for qualified tutors, Linda created a list of four-year college graduates and/or certified teachers in Seattle, Washington.  It became apparent that many parents and students outside of Seattle were also in need of in-home tutors.  Within the first year, she expanded her tutor referral services to include Tacoma, Olympia, Everett and surrounding communities.  Professional Tutors Network is now serving all of Western Washington.
